IGLFA Helps

The organization is the appropriate venue for gay men and women worldwide to forge friendship and camaraderie. It works through the establishment of an international network of football clubs as a promotion to the non gay community that despite the difference in sexual preferences, they too deserve to be respected.

Among many other organizations, they assist emerging teams, hold regional tournaments, and supervise the selection process including the conduction of tournament operations. In fact they have been of help in the formation of the first gay soccer team in 1980, the New York Rambles. In the following years, several regional tournaments came to be and in 1992, the very first championship in Europe was held.
