International Gay and Lesbian Football Association

The International Gay and Lesbian Football Association is formed with the primary aim to raise the standard of the homosexual community and gain respect for gay men and women worldwide through the establishment of this organization.

While emphasis is placed on this, all other activities conducted by its auspices are considered inclusive in nature and that no individual is prevented or excluded in participating regardless of sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnicity, political beliefs, physical and artistic abilities, including HIV status. Members of the association have the privilege to participate in social events and functions sponsored by the association, attend meetings, vote and be nominated as an official of the organization. Qualified members are sworn to abide by mission, purpose, and by-laws including the payment of annual fees set forth by the association.

Failure to adhere to the association’s constitution, by-laws, rule and regulations, excessive debt and misappropriation, threats or assaults to the integrity of fellow members may mean censure, temporary suspension, or revocation of membership. Due sanctions are also administered by a standing committee. Reviews on sanction procedures are done by the Executive Board of Directors. Upon examination, the executive board may carry out certain revisions as deemed necessary. Validity of membership shall last for not more than a year in accordance to the association’s stipulated fiscal year and terminated upon the stated term of expiration. Renewal is done through the re-satisfying of the provision of membership.

 Another objective is to launch sports assembly. Specifically, the technical aspect of football is being focused and promotes a deeper knowledge and understanding of the physical and tactical aspect of the game. Annual World Championship and Gay Games are being endorsed to promote camaraderie among members. There will be two separate tournaments, one for the men and another division for the women to divide the group by level of competition with at least three games per team against different opponents. In the event that more than one team exists for championship, self-election of teams will be employed. Football organizations, soccer teams, or individual teams are enjoined to participate in the association’s endeavors.
