It would be lovely to be one of those people who get excited about waking up at 4:30am each day to jog a light 10 miles before work wouldn’t it? Loads of us would be delighted to be able to say that we are that into running and that disciplined about the whole shebang, but few of us actually are.
Most people would much rather sit in an arm chair and use a massager to try and squeeze and prod away the cellulite and love handles. Unfortunately, that is the kind of behavior that is not going to make you lose weight, keep it off and enjoy outstanding health well into your twilight years.
One of the absolute best ways to get yourself exercising and even enjoying it, it by finding someone you can do it with. An exercise pal is just about a foolproof method to getting into the habit of exercising. It doesn’t matter who it is: it could be a friend, co-worker, relative or anyone else you know around the traps.
Arranging to do exercises with another person has been studied and shown to help people get into the habit of exercising and keep going longer. People who start exercising with a friend are much more likely to still be exercising after two months of starting.
It could be that having someone else to do something with is a lot more fun than doing it alone and this motivates you. It could be that the competitive streak in you comes out when you are working out with another person and you refuse to let them beat you in the number of repetitions done in the muscle workout routine.
It is also much harder to blow off your scheduled exercise when you have to meet up with someone. No one likes to feel like they are letting others down and you are much more likely to get yourself to the gym or field if there is someone waiting for you there.
So if you are eager to build muscle mass fast, then you should find someone that you can exercise with and you are much more likely to achieve your aims. As well as losing weight and toning up faster, you are probably going to have more fun doing it.
